【商品の特徴や使い方等】
国鉄103系は、1963年(昭和38)年から1984(昭和59)年にかけて、3,447両が製造された通勤型電車です。日本各地で活躍し、様々なバリエーションが生まれました。
製品のモデルとなったのは広島県や山口県を走った瀬戸内色の中でも最初期の編成です。
前面のワイパー追加やスカート取付、側面の戸袋窓埋め、床下グレー化などは未施工の、晩年と比べると原形に近い姿となっています。
編成にはかつて自動解結装置取付の関係でサハ103を方向転換し、装置撤去後も車番を-5000としたのみで運用された元サハ102-5002のサハ102-2を含む編成です。
本編成は後にサハを除いた3両がスカイブルーに塗り替えられ、羽衣支線で2008年まで活躍しました(サハは大阪環状線などで活躍し、サハ103-475と組み替えられる形で2006年引退)。
瀬戸内色103系の特徴であるサボ受けは、「下関⇔岩国」のサボが入った状態となります。
後年は見られなくなったシルバーシートマークや僅か1年程の「広セキ」所属標記も印刷にて表現いたします。
付属のラベルには山陽本線の他、阪神大震災後カナリア色との混色6連で走っていた時期の方向幕も収録しています。

小型レイアウトでも走らせやすい4両編成で、最小走行半径はR95と大変コンパクトです。

【Product features and usage, etc.】
JNR 103 series is a commuter train; it manufactured 3,447 cars from 1963 (Showa 38) to 1984 (Showa 59).
The model for this product is the E3 formation, which belonged to the Shimonoseki General Rolling Stock Depot around 1992, the earliest of the Setouchi colors.
This model is close to the original model, which has not undergone modifications yet, such as adding wipers and skirts and repainting the bogies to gray.
Except for the Saha, this train was later repainted sky blue and operated on the Hagoromo spur line until 2008.
The minimum mileage is R95, which is very compact.
