【商品の特徴や使い方等】
ヨ8000形車掌車は国鉄によって1974年(昭和49年)から1979年(昭和54年)までに、1,170両が製造された車掌車です。
性能は従来までのヨ5000形やヨ6000形等から大幅に変化し、国鉄の2軸車掌車では初めて便所が設置されるなど、従来の車掌車から外観・性能共に大きく進化した車両でした。
しかし1986年に貨物列車の車掌乗務が原則廃止されたことから次第に活躍の場を失い、現在JRにおいては甲種輸送や特大貨物列車の係員輸送など、ごく限られた用途の為に少数の車両が残されています。
最小走行半径はR95と大変コンパクトです。

【Product features and usage, etc.】
The Yo 8000 guard van is manufactured by the Japanese National Railways from 1974 (Showa 49) to 1979 (Showa 54) with 1,170 cars.
The performance has changed significantly from the conventional Yo 5000 and Yo 6000; installed the toilet for the first time in a 2-axle caboose of the Japanese National Railways. It was a car that significantly evolved in appearance and performance from the conventional caboose.
Since the conductor crew of freight trains was abolished in 1986, it gradually lost its place of activity, and now in JR, a small number of cars are used for minimal purposes such as transportation of class A and clerk transportation of oversized freight trains.
The minimum mileage is R95, which is very compact.
